What to wear to your Couples Photography Session

Stay Neutral

  • Neutral colors are classic. The style of your photographs will be timeless. Look for whites, browns & blacks. If you’d like a splash of color, go for subtle blues, pinks or greens. Avoid bright & bold fabric so your faces & emotion stand out most.

Think Solid

  • Solid fabrics are stunning in photographs. Avoid loud prints & patterns. Avoid logos, printed images or lettering. Even a simple pattern can distract from the main focus of your images - the love of you as a couple. Simple is best.

Style Feet

  • We style from head to toe. And what we wear on our feet matters. Bare feet or stylish footwear is best. Avoid athletic sneakers, socks & sandals, or well worn shoes. Focus on neutral, new or trendy. This helps to not distract from our main focus: your faces & the emotion you share.

Mix & Match

  • We love to see a mix of neutral colors & types of clothes. Avoid wearing the same color tops or same color bottoms. Instead, pick a few shades of the same color family, pick some pants & dresses, and mix & match.

Dress Comfortably

Hands down, our favorite styling recommendation is to dress in ways that make you feel good. Dress so you can play into the emotion that surfaces. Maybe you want to nestle into each other or maybe you want to explore the landscape. Dress so you can be as much a part of the nature around you, as part of each other. You may sit or lay on the earth, in a field, on the sand, in the surf, or on a big rock. Be ready for your beauty to shine through the love you share with each other, even if it means there’s some mess. Your photography shows you living the good life!
